A bit about our natural formulations…

FIG+YARROW products are made with natural organic virgin (unrefined) fair-trade ingredients. Each product is formulated to be shelf stable for a minimum of 2 years. For optimal freshness and benefits, we encourage you to enjoy your product within 6 months of opening. To further preserve the quality of your product, we suggest storing away from light and heat. For all products—the Facial Scrub in particular—we encourage the user to keep water out of the container and apply using clean hands.

The Nature of Natural

Due to the nature of natural ingredients, there may occasionally be slight differences in color from batch to batch. This can be attributed to any number of factors including difference in processing methods of the base ingredients, difference in vibrancy of particular harvests, a change in suppliers who may be sourcing from different regions, etc. As we use virgin organic oils that do not have the color (and thus beneficial nutrients) stripped from them (a process used by most cosmetic companies for the sake of homogeneity), there can be a slight inconsistency in the depth of hue of our oil-based products. Ultimately the color variations pose no concern as to the quality of the product.

Preservation Method

There are various ingredients used within each formulation that serve to protect each product from unacceptable levels of various forms of yeast, molds and bacteria as well as preserve freshness by reducing the rate of oxidation (a natural process that occurs over time to due exposure to light, heat and oxygen).

All of our formulation were rigorously tested at the onset of development and each individual batch is tested by sending samples to a 3rd party laboratory that provides us with data sheets which will alert us to potential concerns. We do not move to the next step of packaging the batch until this data is reviewed. If there is any concern, the batch will be discarded.
